Laura West is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and holds a license as a certified public accountant with the state of Iowa. She serves as a tax Endorsed Local Provider for The Dave Ramsey Show, is an active member of the Financial Planning Association of Iowa, and is a passionate leader in community development.
Laura graduated from the University of Iowa in 1995 with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting. Laura began her working years as a CPA working for KPMG, a global accounting and tax firm located in Des Moines, Iowa. Before forming West Financial Advisors, LLC she held various corporate finance roles with one of Iowa’s largest and most respected companies, Pioneer Hi-Bred International.
Life-long learning is an important value held by Laura and she is currently working on her masters in Family Financial Planning from Iowa State University. Laura takes the time to truly listen to clients and understand their unique circumstances. She enjoys helping people unlock their dreams and establish plans for their life goals. Brian West is an INVESTMENT ADVISOR REPRESENTATIVE and holds a license as a certified public accountant with the state of Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1992 with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting. Brian began his career as a CPA working for KPMG, a global accounting and tax firm located in Des Moines, Iowa. He also held the roles of Chief Finance Officer and Chief Operating Officer at EFCO, a global company based in Des Moines, Iowa.
Brian now serves as the firm’s chief investment officer and portfolio manager. He leverages his extensive business experience and technical investing expertise to build optimal client investment portfolios. His philosophy for long-term wealth creation is to focus on proper asset allocation and utilize data-driven criteria for selecting and monitoring investments. He takes client investment performance personally and works diligently to ensure they meet their objectives.
